Thank You!

August 09, 2017

I was one of the seven sisters from the Duquesne University Alpha Phi Chapter of Kappa Epsilon who had the pleasure of attending the 51st biennial Kappa Epsilon National Convention in the beautiful city of New Orleans, LA last week. We were joined by one of our advisors, Dr. Paula Witt-Enderby, who guided us through our first convention experience.

During the convention, in addition to hearing from keynote speakers, attending poster presentations and networking, we attended numerous business sessions where we learned about the following:

  • The process of changing chapter bylaws
  • How to involve alumni on a national level
  • The process of voting and discussing a budget
  • How to improve the fall/spring recruitment process
  • The process of applying to a residency
  • How to communicate with chapters, advisors, and alumni from different universities

Our trip was truly eye-opening. We could not have done it without the help of our family, friends, and alumni. Without all of you and your kind donations, we would not have been able to send so many girls from our chapter to New Orleans. This experience has taught us so much, and we cannot wait to spread our knowledge back at Duquesne. We are all truly grateful for the experience, and we owe it all to our support system.

Thank you again for helping us learn more about Kappa Epsilon on a national level!

An Update from the Kappa Epsilon National Convention!

August 05, 2017

As a donor to the Duquesne University crowdfunding campaign we hosted in June, we are excited to provide you with this update from the  Kappa Epsilon Fraternity National Convention in New Orleans, LA!

In the top photo, we are at our first event of the convention. This year, KE is celebrating the 51st national convention. The first event was KE spirit night, so each chapter wore their letters and networked with other chapters from across the country.

In the bottom photo, we are at the annual awards banquet. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner and conversed with other sisters, while cheering on different chapters and listening to their success stories.

Thank you for helping to make this educational experience possible for us!

We Reached Our Crowdfunding Goal!

June 16, 2017

On behalf of all the active members of the Duquesne University Alpha Phi Chapter of Kappa Epsilon, we want to THANK YOU for your generous donation to our crowdfunding campaign (www.spirit.duq.edu/ke17). We are ecstatic to inform you that, thanks to your support, we reached our crowdfunding goal of $1,000!

Your gift will help defray the costs for seven of us students to attend the Kappa Epsilon Fraternity National Convention this August in New Orleans. The conference will greatly enhance the educational experience we receive at Duquesne, as it will allow us to hear from leaders in the profession, network with fellow pharmacy students and professionals, gain insights on how to improve our Chapter and attend breakout sessions. It’s so nice to know that we have a strong support system behind us—we're so appreciative for our friends, family, and alumni!

We can't wait for the conference to begin and to send you an update.

Thank you again for your gift!
