Thank you once again for your support of our crowdfunding campaign, which ended last evening. Our final total was $1,785 raised from 42 donors! In all, our four Spiritan Campus Ministry crowdfunding campaigns to support spring break mission trips raised $5,324 from 135 gifts. We are so grateful!

For our trip, your contribution helped us to…

• Help clean up the offices and Recreational Center at St. Edward’s Parish in Baltimore
• Paint a colorful mural to greet visitors to the Recreational Center
• Assist with different ministries (including a food back and thrift store) in Arlington
• Learn about all the ways a unified community can make a difference from Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Arlington
• Learn about African-American history and the general history of our country

Duquesne University Student Jessica Chan’s Reflection

As the student leader for the Arlington and Baltimore trip, I had wonderful experience getting to know each student and revisiting these parishes during my second spring break at Duquesne.

Through this trip, I learned that I have a passion for helping underprivileged communities. I hope to work as a nurse in the communities that need the assistance and go on medical mission trips in the future.

One thing I will remember about this trip are the people we met in Baltimore and the stories they shared with us. Getting to know the community members and building those connections made this trip unique and definitely led each one of us to develop a greater respect and empathy for individuals living in the lower socioeconomic areas.

Thank you to all of the donors for supporting our mission trip. We were able to fix up the community center in Baltimore (supplying new drapes) and help fund the Arlington's twin parish in Haiti!

Thanks to generous donors like you, we have exceeded our crowdfunding goal with 16 days left in the campaign! We are currently at 119% of our goal thanks to 35 generous donors who helped us raise $1,495.

These funds will enrich our Urban Plunge Mission Experience and those we will serve at St. Edward's Parish in Baltimore, MD and Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish in Arlington, VA.
