THANK YOU for your support of the Duquesne Debating Society’s crowdfunding campaign to host iDebate Rwanda at Duquesne University.
Your donation was put into action this week as the 2016 iDebate Rwanda U.S. Tour arrived on campus!
On Wednesday, a highly-attended campus debate between Duquesne’s Debating Society and the group of young adults from Rwanda was held (pictured). Universal and cultural perceptions of forgiveness was the focus of the debate. Attendees had the opportunity to hear how debate has impacted a generation of youth in Rwanda. The Rwandan debaters also spoke at various Duquesne University classes during their visit to Pittsburgh.
The iDebate U.S. Tour provides Rwandan students the opportunity to speak on living in a post-genocide world and how debate has helped change their lives. Your donation helped to cover the costs of this opportunity and provide our campus with this special experience.
ONE MORE DAY TO SPREAD THE WORD!
Our crowdfunding campaign ends tomorrow at 11:59 p.m. EST. We are still shy of our $1,000 goal so if there is anyone you know who might be interested in supporting this effort or if you’re willing to spread the word on social media, please direct them to www.spirit.duq.edu/idebate16 and encourage them to donate.
THANK YOU AGAIN!
