We are the active sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau-Beta Delta chapter at Duquesne University. Thank you for taking the time to look at our crowdfunding campaign. As a chapter, we take great pride in all of our accomplishments and connections to our friends, family, and alumni. We would like to use this campaign to help to grow our sisterhood and uphold the close ties we have with those who continually support us.

What is Alpha Sigma Tau up to at Duquesne University?

The sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau are very involved within Duquesne’s campus and are devoted to helping our sisters succeed and maintain a strong relationship with both the Duquesne and Pittsburgh communities. Ways we stay involved with the community include:

• Every fall we organize our annual philanthropy event, “Miss Duquesne.” Miss Duquesne is a pageant in which delegates from each sorority and fraternity help to raise money for our philanthropy, Make-A-Wish. This year we raised over $15,000 and granted three wishes.
• This year we are partnering with Dress for Success and Women’s Wellness Initiative to host a clothing drive to benefit women who do not have the means to dress appropriately for a professional interview.

We strive to give back to the community as best we can through both our philanthropy and through various service opportunities throughout the city of Pittsburgh.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?

Each sorority and fraternity on Duquesne’s campus is hosting a crowdfunding campaign to help grow each chapter in a unique way. These donations will help to benefit our chapter in covering costs of our chapter’s immediate needs. These donations will be used for:

• Helping to fund our trip to the National Convention this summer
• Growing our funds to support sisters who may be in financial need
• Continue to support other organization's philanthropy events

* Use of all donations must be approved by Rebecca Mickler, Director of Greek Life, and Sarah Sperry, Assistant Vice President, Alumni Engagement.
