We are the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi of the Alpha Mu chapter at Duquesne University and we would like to thank you for taking time to check out our crowdfunding campaign! Alpha Omicron Pi values charity, dignity, scholarship and college loyalty. A successful campaign would help us to make these efforts even stronger while also showing the Duquesne University community the strong bond we have with our alumnae sisters and friends.
What is Alpha Omicron Pi up to at Duquesne University?
We just gained a new pledge class last month of 27 wonderful, inspiring young women to add to our growing chapter.
Even though we have only been an official chapter on Duquesne’s campus for four years, we are very active on campus and nationally. Over the past year we have won a few awards on and off campus. Here at Duquesne we won organization of the year, the presidents cup, and the carnival show. Nationally, we won the philos award at our yearly conference, emphasizing our Panhellenic involvement. Some of our annual efforts include:
We organize two large-scale annual philanthropic events: Spike out Arthritis, a volleyball tournament that supports the national arthritis foundation, in the fall, and our annual lip sync battle in the spring that supports the local variety foundation. Our funds raised for both events go directly to the respected charities
Through our efforts to aid both the Greek Life and Duquesne campus communities, Alpha Omicron Pi helps each member live out the Duquesne mission statement daily while inspiring ambition through not only our sisters but through our peers as well.
Why Are We Crowdfunding?
Alpha Omicron Pi is crowdfunding this year in effort to raise funds for our chapter! Any money we raise will go to:
Duquesne University has established Greek Life Student Support Funds for each sorority and fraternity on campus. These gift accounts allow us to accept donations, which we can use to help cover the costs of Alpha Omicron Pi’s most immediate needs. Examples of how these funds may be used are listed above.
* Use of all donations must be approved by Rebecca Mickler, Director of Greek Life, and Sarah Sperry, Assistant Vice President, Alumni Engagement.
