Samuel J. Hazo Endowed Resource Fund
What is the Samuel J. Hazo Endowed Resource Fund?
The Samuel J. Hazo Endowed Resource Fund is a joint effort of the alumnae sisters of Alpha Phi Omicron and Zeta Tau Alpha. Once the resource fund is endowed, perpetual funding will directly support Duquesne University student sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha based on financial need and academic merit.
Who is Sam Hazo?
This fund honors Sam Hazo, a distinguished Duquesne faculty member and internationally recognized author, who served for 10 years as advisor to the Omicrons. It also enables us to broaden the scope of our direct support to our sisters in good standing at Duquesne. Dr. Hazo lent his name to this fund because, just as he was committed to the Omicrons so many years ago, he remains a supporter of the sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha and Greek life on campus. Now in his 80’s, Sam Hazo is the same vibrant, intelligent and compassionate man so many of us are fortunate to have known and fondly remember.
What is Our Goal?
Our ultimate goal is to raise $50,000 by July 19, 2018 to honor Dr. Hazo on his 90th birthday. We need your help now more than ever to reach that goal. A gift of any size will send a warm "Thank You and Happy Birthday" to Dr. Hazo, as well as demonstrate our care and support for our collegiate sisters on campus.
How Can I Help?
