Description
Who we are:
The Audio Engineering Society’s goal is to provide opportunities for professional and musical development, networking, and industry connections.
Why we're fundraising:
We are raising money to make it possible for our members to attend the NAMM conference in Anaheim California, which will provide many valuable career-building experiences and networking. It is imperative that we secure this funding now so that we will be able to plan travel and lodging for as many students as possible.
One valuable tradition that our organization has is what we call “Mixing Monday.” A few times per semester, we convene to showcase projects among our peers to receive constructive criticism. In doing so, this helps to build each other up as future professionals and to develop a strong sense of community within our organization.
There are multiple ways in which we have an impact on the university. One example of this is that we provide services in recording auditions and recitals for our fellow students which also gives our members a chance to develop professional skills. Another impact that we have is that we encourage students from any school on campus to join our community and learn about audio.
