Dukettes Dance Team Spring 2026
The Dukettes Dance Team is the official dance team of Duquesne University. Our completely student-run team is comprised of 14 dancers who put countless hours into the team, both on and off the floor! The team performs at football and basketball games at the university throughout the year. The Dukettes also work hard to compete nationally in April in Dayton Beach, Florida, at the National Dance Alliance Collegiate Championship. The Duquesne Dukettes hold the Title of the 2021 Virtual Team Performance Division I National Champions. The team competed in the Division I Jazz category as an entirely student-run program at NDA Nationals 2023 and competed in finals in 2024 and 2025! They are excited to take the NDA stage again in April 2026. The Dukettes are hardworking, driven and have a passion for competing, performing and supporting the Dukes. These dancers are not only focused on the floor but also strive to show excellence in the classroom with majors ranging from Business, to Nursing, to Health Science, and more!
As a student run team the Dukettes are responsible for paying for all their expenses completely out of pocket. There are a lot of expenses that go into competing at NDA nationals. There are flight costs, transportation costs, registration fees, choreography costs, costumes, hotel costs and much more that all of the Dukettes have to pay for themselves. Not to mention all of the other costs throughout the season such as NDA camp that gets us our bid to nationals, uniform costs and gear costs to name a few. Your donations will help lighten the burden of our Dukettes having to pay for these things so any and all donations are greatly appreciated!
The Dukettes are very dedicated to supporting our Duquesne athletic teams and community. The Dukettes cheer on the Duquesne University football team as well as the Duquesne men’s and women's basketball teams. The Dukettes engage and entertain the crowd to help boost school spirit. The Dukettes also hold a clinic to show what the team and life at Duquesne is like each semester for current and prospective Duquesne students. They also show their Duquesne spirit year around by participating in various campus events like the Homecoming parade and Duquesne’s Night of Lights!
In 2024 the Dukettes made it to NDA finals for the first time as a completely student run team. None of the members of that team will ever forget the moment that they heard their team’s name called as one of the teams that made it to finals. They all waited anxiously to hear their name called and the second they heard it the entire team erupted in cheers, hugs, and happy tears. They were all so proud to make it this far as a student run team and excited to represent Duquesne in finals. They were fortunate enough to make it to finals last year as well and they will be working hard this year to not only make it to finals again but strive to place better than they did last year!
