Delta Delta Sigma Spring 2026

Delta Delta Sigma is a pre-dental society whose mission is to assist students with their preparation for professional careers in the dental health sciences as well as promote general awareness about the dental medicine field. 

Delta Delta Sigma is raising funds to expand our efforts to improve oral health within the community. Donations will allow us to assemble oral hygiene kits that include essential items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, mouthwash, and educational materials to help patients learn proper oral care techniques.

This initiative is especially important now, as many individuals we serve lack consistent access to basic dental care and supplies. By continuing to fundraise each semester, we hope to provide ongoing support and ensure that those in need have both the knowledge and the tools to maintain their oral health.

Delta Delta Sigma enhances student life by creating a supportive community for students pursuing a career in dentistry. Our organization helps undergraduate students navigate their journey to dental school by providing guidance on class selection, shadowing opportunities, and involvement in dental-related activities. Through workshops, general meetings, and mentorship, students actively prepare for the dental school application. Additionally, our society promotes volunteering and community service, often organizing events that allow students to engage with the community and develop a deeper understanding of patient care.

 Through our partnership with the Neighborhood Resilience Project (NRP) in the Hill District, our club members have made a meaningful impact on the local community. Delta Delta Sigma established an oral hygiene outreach table to educate patients at NRP on the importance of proper oral care, while also distributing hygiene kits assembled during our club meetings.

Using dental models and educational materials, our students demonstrated proper brushing techniques and engaged directly with patients. The clinic administrator shared that some patients had been forced to share toothbrushes and other hygiene products with family members due to financial concerns. This highlighted that our efforts went beyond education by also providing essential tools to make a tangible difference in these patients’ daily lives.

We are proud to now offer this outreach initiative on a monthly basis, continuing to expand our impact within the community.
