Women's Club Lacrosse Team Fall 2025
Who we are
We are a student-led lacrosse club that provides Duquesne students with an opportunity to continue (or begin) their lacrosse career on a competitive level while also meeting new people and growing a family like community. We host two to three practices a week that allow for many of us to get away from the stress of our majors and allow us to get outside with our friends. We always cheer each other on and lift each other up on and off the field, whether it is through our athletics or through our academics. This fall we had the pleasure of traveling to WVU to participate in playday with three different schools and were able to host our first ever fall playday on our home turf! While we love to play competitively, we thrive to create a community of sportsmanship. We pride ourselves on being recognized as the nicest and friendliest teams in our league. We welcome all levels of players; some have been playing since their childhood to others who have never touched a stick before. This exercise has helped a lot of girls on our team have a well-rounded college experience, showing them how to balance a healthy cardiovascular exercise and their academics.
Our club provides Duquesne students with an opportunity to make a large community of friends while also keeping our bodies physically active. Students are encouraged to come to practice, tournaments, and team bonding activities to get to know each other and connect on a deeper level. Participating in our club has allowed for many students to create strong friendship bonds and allow them to have an outlet to exercise while playing the sport we all love.
Why we need your help
The donations that come to us will help us cover our tournament fees. This includes referee expenses, field rentals, and athletic trainer dues. These donations will also help us when we need to travel to farther locations for tournaments. We have gone as far as Kentucky in the past to play, so the donations can help us cover hotel rooms and gas money to get to and from tournaments. This can also help us purchase snacks and water for our team, and even help us pay for fun team bonding activities such as Friendsgiving. We do not want finances to prevent people from joining our team so any donations can help us.
