oSTEM Fall 2025

Who we are

Out in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics is a national LGBTQ+ affirming organization that aims to provide services and support for students in STEM to create a dynamic network between students and professionals in industry and academia. We create a safe space for students on campus building our community.

Our organization builds a welcoming community that represents the LGBTQ+ individuals at Duquesne and provides an atmosphere where STEM students can meet others who are likeminded. Our younger students can meet upperclassman of the same major and foster a mentorship throughout their years at Duquesne.

Why we need your help

We are raising money to support our members attending the national conference this year and for future conferences to come! There we will be introduced to other LGBTQ+ students, professionals, recruiters, and allies to the STEM fields across our country. There is also a Career and Graduate School Expo which will allow us to connect and network with those in the STEM industries and universities. This is incredibly important as it will allow our members to advance in their chosen STEM field and learn about all the possibilities available to them as well as be immersed in a space where they can be their most authentic self.
