National Band Association Fall 2025

The Duquesne University National Band Association student chapter is dedicated to serving Duquesne and the greater Pittsburgh area by providing members with meaningful opportunities within the field of music education, specifically through band-related experiences. Members interact with students, strengthen pedagogical strategy and fluency, plan, and participate in experiences that aim to inform and support future teaching practices while benefiting instrumental students of all ages.

What are we fundraising for?

The National Band Association at Duquesne is fundraising for our trip to the Mid-West Music Conference in Chicago. At this conference future music educators have the chance to gain more insight to music education and network with other educators. The Mid-West conference hosts workshops where clinicians share insight about educating and working with students. Finally, Conference goers will get the chance to see performances from ensembles around the nation. By donating you are helping cover the cost of housing members in their time in Chicago.

The National Band Association student chapter is here to work towards building a community by uplifting and supporting everyone. We work to develop our teaching through workshops, and networking events. Our organization is here to offer future educators with experiences that will help in their life once they graduate from Duquesne. 

NBA has had the privilege of hosting a concert band festival for the last couple years. Our most recent one was an overwhelming success. We got to connect two local high schools with some of the world class conductors/ band educators that we have here at Duquesne. The high school students and collegiate members all got to learn and grow during this festival and by the end the students had huge smiles on their faces. The community outreach that we achieved and the impact we had on those students, and our members truly represents NBA.
