Duquesne University Model United Nations Spring 2025

The Duquesne University Model United Nations Club is a student-led organization that helps students foster a deeper understanding of international diplomacy and global issues. Members participate in simulations of United Nations committees to develop public speaking, negotiation, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Club members hone these skills by hosting and participating in MUN conferences. We recently hosted our annual high school competition, DuqMUN, where hundreds of students from local high schools participate in committees designed and chaired by our club members.

We are seeking donations to support our amazing club members’ talents and travel to a collegiate MUN competition hosted by the University of Chicago this spring. MUN holds close the Spiritan values that Duquesne emphasizes. The club emphasizes respect for human dignity by simulating global discussions on human rights, humanitarian crises, and sustainable development. We also show commitment to justice and peace by representing various countries as students explore solutions to global challenges. Club members also participate in community outreach, helping to educate local high schools about international relations and encouraging other generations to think globally.
