Who We Are & What We Do:

Opus Novum Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a vibrant collegiate community founded at Duquesne University in 2018, with the mission of fostering the gifts of the Holy Spirit among students. Inspired by the meaning of its name, “Opus Novum,” or "The New Work," and the verse from Isaiah 43:19, our community seeks to experience and share the transformative power of God. We are a group of brothers and sisters in Christ who come together to grow closer to the Lord through daily Mass, communal prayer, Scripture study, fellowship, praise and worship, and guest speakers. At the heart of our mission is a desire to help students develop a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and open themselves to the life-changing encounter with the love of the Father through the Holy Spirit. Opus Novum is a place where students can experience the dynamic and life-altering presence of the Holy Spirit, empowering them to live out their faith authentically and with purpose.

Opus Novum Catholic Charismatic Renewal provides vital support to students at Duquesne University by fostering a strong sense of community and spiritual growth. Through regular opportunities for communal prayer, daily Mass, and Scripture study, students are encouraged to deepen their faith and strengthen their relationship with God. The group also offers a supportive environment where students can engage in fellowship, praise, and worship, helping them build meaningful connections with others who share their faith. Additionally, guest speakers and spiritual formation sessions provide students with tools for navigating life’s challenges while remaining rooted in their faith. By creating a space for students to experience the transformative power of the Holy Spirit, Opus Novum empowers individuals to grow in holiness, find purpose, and live authentically in their spiritual journey.

Why We Are Seeking Funds:

Donations to Opus Novum Catholic Charismatic Renewal will help cover essential costs for our upcoming Spring retreat, which is a key event for our community’s spiritual renewal and growth. Contributions will go towards covering expenses such as meals, transportation, and lodging, ensuring that all students can participate without financial burden. Additionally, donations will help bring in guest speakers who can provide valuable spiritual formation and guidance during the retreat.
