American String Teachers Association
The ASTA organization is working to attend the 2025 national conference in Atlanta, Georgia. This conference will include guest speakers presenting sessions about performing, teaching publicly or privately, instrument repair and more. This conference will provide networking opportunities for students who attend and will show string musicians in their line of work.
Who we are:
We are a small organization based out of the Mary Pappert School of Music at Duquesne University called ASTA. ASTA is an association of people that appreciate and play stringed instruments, want to teach Orchestra programs, or simply just like listening to classical music. This year, our organization has grown to 21 members, all who are interested in the organization and what it provides. This organization is open to any musician; band, orchestra, or choir, as well as students outside of the music school.
This organization allows for educational opportunities for performing, teaching students, and other students who enjoy string instruments.
