Women’s club lacrosse at Duquesne is all about getting active and having fun! Through playing a sport that we all love we are able to take a break from our classes and embrace some healthy competition. In our fall season we usually have up to 3 play days or tournaments where we will travel to other colleges to play against them. This fall we have/ will play Kent State, Mount Vernon, West Virginia and James Maddison. In the spring we take on a few more games to play and could qualify for a tournament at the end of the year. While we all love to play lacrosse, our teams main focus is sportsmanship. We take pride in that we are known in our league as one of the nicest and most fun teams to play against. Above all else we encourage everyone to cheer each other on and bring smiles and good attuites to practice and games each day.
This cub supports the students of Duquesne by contributing to our physical and mental health. We Sometimes we need to take a step away from our stressful workload and get some fresh air doing an activity that we love. At practice we include a variety of drills that push our cardiovascular endurance, ball handling skills and field awareness. Playing a club sport means that we enjoy competition, but school remains our main priority. With that being said, it is important to stay balanced with school and our social lives as well. Our club embraces that through team bonding events on the weekends and even getting to know other club sports. Women’s club lacrosse allows our players to get a well rounded college experience and give us the freedom to get what we want out of it.
Why we need your help
Your donation could help cover referee expenses, gas for our drivers, or even something as small as some water bottles for game days. We don’t want anyone to debate joining our team because of finical issues or for our players to feel like they aren’t being taken care of. We genuinely care about the wellbeing of all of our teammates, and any donation could help promote that.
A gift of $100 would cover the cost of bringing in a referee for matches
