What is Sigma Iota Rho
Sigma Iota Rho is the national honors fraternity for International Relations. The purpose of Sigma Iota Rho is to promote and reward scholarship and service among students and practitioners of international studies, international affairs, and global studies and to foster integrity and creative performance in the conduct of world affairs.
Sigma Iota Rho at Duquesne
Duquesne’s Chapter of Sigma Iota Rho, Epsilon Chi, is a focal point in connecting Duquesne students with the world. We are dedicated to bringing together fellow students studying International Relations or anyone interested in the field. We strive to host events for Duquesne that highlight global affairs while strengthening our local community. These events include, but are not limited to debates, guest speakers, and general discussions about current affairs.
Why we are Crowdfunding
We are crowdfunding to help cover the costs of hosting the events listed above and to help defray the expenses of the annual Networking Trip to Washington D.C which our members participate in. Every year our members get the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. and meet with alumni who currently work in a range of fields - government, non-profits, contracting, think tanks, etc. This past year, our members had the chance to engage with members of the Quincy Institute, take part in an alumni panel, and meet agents and analysts from the FBI. Funds will be used to host next year’s events for students and to cover the vehicle expenses of the Washington D.C. trip.
Please Support us and Spread our Mission!
Please consider donating to help subsidize costs for our events and support our members in going to Washington D.C. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated. Also please consider sharing our campaign on your social media platforms. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
