Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS)
SACNAS at Duquesne is an organization committed to empowering and supporting Hispanic and Native American students in science by offering a community of scientists from similar backgrounds, as well as educating our fellow Duquesne students on our unique cultures and traditions.
Every October, the SACNAS national chapter holds the National Diversity in STEM Research Conference, which allows Sacnistas from all over the country to present their research. The National Diversity in STEM conference also allows students to make connections with fellow researchers and network with professionals in their scientific field of interest. The 2023 conference will be held in Portland, Oregon. Donating to our fund will allow some of our students to have their airfare and hotel costs be covered.
SACNAS at Duquesne also holds many cultural and charity events, such as Lotería Night, our charity dodgeball tournament, and Spanish Night. These events help us to both give back to our community and share our culture with those unfamiliar with it. Donating allows us to keep these events up and running smoothly.
Your donation is greatly appreciated, no matter how small! Other ways you can support SACNAS include coming to our events and following us on our Instagram, @sacnasduq.
