Duquesne University Gamma Phi Fraternity
We, the Brothers of the Gamma Phi Fraternity, would like to cordially thank you for visiting our crowdfunding page! For those who may not know, the Gamma Phi Fraternity was founded at Duquesne in 1916, where it has remained for the past 105 years. As of today, we remain the oldest and last remaining local fraternity in the great city of Pittsburgh. Because Gamma Phi was founded at Duquesne University, the Brotherhood has a rich and illustrious history with the University. Throughout the past 105 years, the Gamma Phi Fraternity has produced generations of respectable alum who have left Duquesne better men because of the Brotherhood instilled by the Gamma Phi Fraternity. And that is why we ask for your help today.
Current State of the Gamma Phi Fraternity
Gamma Phi’s most recent hurdle was navigating the Covid-19 pandemic. We endured through lockdowns, mandates, and stricter regulations on Greek Life. Despite the pandemic, we were able to take in a couple new brothers each semester, and we’ve recently bounced back with a record pledge class of six new members this spring to take us to a new total of 24 members! As Gamma Phi is growing, our primary goal is to preserve the brotherhood that has been passed down so carefully through the generations. Establishing ourselves as a proactive and engaging fraternity on campus, as it was once before, is only possible with the help of our generous alumni.
What will donations be used for?
With your help and generous donations, we can build up again after the Covid-19 pandemic and continue to strengthen our philanthropic relationships with the Mary Queen of Peace Parish and the PA Lupus Foundation. We’ve worked closely with Mary Queen of Peace Parish this year - funding their 20th anniversary 9/11 memorial and helping their music director with donations and volunteering to play in their services. With your donations, we can purchase new merchandise, composites, graduation medallions, insurance, maintain the Gamma Phi War Memorial, and more! Increasing our presence on campus is a top priority of the brothers of Gamma Phi, and your generous donations will make that possible.
