Who Are We?
Encore Show Choir is a singing and dancing music group at Duquesne University that performs at Duquesne and at various events and communities in the Pittsburgh area. Throughout the semester, we learn a variety of songs and dances so that we can give back to our community through our performances. We are made up of students from various majors from education to music therapy, and even more!
Why Encore?
Encore provides a community of like-minded people who all share a passion for music. We are a tight-knit group of lifelong friends who have all found a second home through Encore. Due to academics, jobs, and other factors, many students find it difficult to get involved with music on campus. Encore provides a flexible, recreational group where everyone can enjoy performing.
What We Want to Do:
We are excited to be able to return to performing after limitations due to the pandemic. This year, we hope to continue spreading the love of music by:

We cannot express how much we love music. For many of us, music has allowed us to express ourselves in ways words cannot, and provides us with an outlet for our creativity. Music goes beyond the words of the sheet; music is the emotions, meanings, and feelings that come from the melodies. We want to show people just how powerful music can be, and give back to the communities that mean so much to us and to others.
