What is SOTA?
The Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) is an on-campus organization that consists of students majoring in Occupational Therapy. We provide volunteer opportunities, host guest lecturers from the profession, and generally provide opportunities for professional development to our students. One of those opportunities is to attend the annual American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) Conference. Of the approximately 90 members of SOTA, 15- 20 members will be attending this conference.
What is AOTA?
AOTA is a national organization that occupational therapists and occupational therapy students can choose to join. This organization provides many professional development opportunities to its members, such as continuing education credits and webinars, in addition to advocating for occupational therapists’ interests in state and federal government. The annual conference is held to allow professionals and students to share their research, network with one another, and learn more about this diverse profession.
Why are we Crowdfunding?
We are crowdfunding because not every student who wants to go to the AOTA conference would be able to attend without financial assistance. We want to provide the opportunity to our students to have this great experience. We appreciate any amount that you can donate! It will allow our students to have a wonderful professional opportunity.
Students attending AOTA will have the opportunity to:
