Support the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic Endowment Fund in Honor of Deb Durica

30 years ago, Deb Durica came to Duquesne University to support the founding of the Rangos School of Health Sciences. When the Speech-Language Pathology Department was founded in 1996, Deb became the Academic Advisor for speech-language pathology students.

Over the past 25 years, Deb has served, in the true sense of that word, each speech-language pathology student to their own needs in the pursuit of their degrees and careers. Deb helped students with their routine needs (e.g., registration, study abroad, grade changes, schedule changes) and with their unique, special needs. She has been a shoulder to cry on, an ear to vent frustration to, and a special friend to so many. The thousands upon thousands of people with communication disorders served by our alumni owe Deb a debt of gratitude they do not even know exists. For these 25 years, faculty and staff in the Speech-Language Pathology Department and throughout the Rangos School of Health Sciences have benefited from Deb’s guidance, support, and kindness. Now Deb has retired and we wish her well; we wish her peace, health, happiness, and well-deserved contentment.

At this special time, I ask that you consider making a donation to the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic Endowment Fund in honor of Deb. Among many clinically relevant activities, the SLHC Fund is able to defray costs for clients who cannot afford clinical services in Duquesne's Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and support student travel and awards. Your donation to the SLHC Fund will extend Deb’s reach to future students and the clients they will serve while at Duquesne University and throughout their careers as alumni.

Thank you for considering a donation.

Mikael D.Z. Kimelman, Ph.D. CCC-SLP, F-ASHA - Chair, Department of Speech-Language Pathology
