Support the students of Duquesne's music-service fraternity!

Please Note: We will not host community events or public performances until it is safe and we have approval from the University to do so. Your gift now will allow our organization to be fully prepared to bring happiness to our campus and Pittsburgh communities through our love of music once COVID restrictions have been lifted.

Who are we?

Mu Phi Epsilon is a co-educational International Professional Music Fraternity that seeks to recognize scholarship/musicianship and promote the role of music through service to the community, the country, and the world. We believe that artistic gifts are to be shared and provide our members with opportunities to present and refine their abilities.

What is Mu Phi and who are the members?

Mu Phi Epsilon is the music-service fraternity on our campus that includes the music students within the Mary Pappert School of Music. Anyone within the Mary Pappert School of Music can be initiated into our chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, Epsilon Upsilon. Our members  include majors in: Music Education, Music Therapy, Music Technology, and Music Performance. Together, we have created a community to help the well-being of our music community as well as the community of Pittsburgh. We have hosted many events to help raise money for our school and for the community of Pittsburgh. Some examples of how we provide service through music include:

  • host a virtual, "Spread the Love" benefit concert in the spring to support the kids of the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh
  • assist at Fiddlesticks Family Concerts, a Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra program where children ages 3-8 are invited to a morning of musical fun in a relaxed, welcoming, and interactive environment
  • carol around Duquesne's campus
  • usher at Duquesne student recitals and ensemble concerts

Why do we need donations?

The purpose of our crowdfunding campaign is to help enhance and expand our organization so that we can promote the arts and share our talents to a larger audience. A successful crowdfunding campaign would provide the necessary funding so that we can:

  • host more off-campus events
  • afford the transportation to visit the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh every year so we can interact with the kids in-person, a very rewarding and beneficial experience for both our members and the kids
  • expand our outreach to perform in nursing homes and area schools

Reasons why this campaign would be helpful to the Mu Phi Epsilon chapter:

  1. We can support other people within the community
  2. We can spread awareness for the various opportunities in the music industry
  3. We can offer opportunities to students to further enrich their education and showcase their talents
  4. We can advocate for the arts and the positive impact music has on us as human beings

Please donate and spread the word!

Please donate today and share this page with alumni, family, friends via e-mail, text message, word of mouth and on social media. This is our first-ever crowdfunding campaign so we need help to get the word out there. Even a gift of $10 will help!
