We need your help!
We are six Duquesne University students, from various educational programs who are all interested in social justice and following the Duquesne mission. We will participate in a Cross-Cultural Mission Experience (CCME) in Dayton, Ohio and Chicago, Illinois. This is the fifth year Duquesne students will immerse themselves into these communities and work with the community members, learn and understand their hardships, and grow in faith.
When and where are we going?
We will be traveling from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, February 29, 2020. From there, we will travel to Dayton, Ohio until we return to Duquesne University on March 8th. We all can't wait to serve the people of two vibrant parishes. During our time in Chicago, we will be deeply involved with the St. Ambrose Parish where will we work with soup kitchens and homeless shelters in the city of Chicago. During the second half of our trip in Dayton, we will work with St. Benedict the Moor Parish via assisting them with renovations to their school and building relationships with the students and faculty.
How you can help?
In years past, we have received donations to help build a beautiful playground for the children at this school. Unfortunately, a drunk driver recently ran through the surrounding fence of the playground, leaving damage to the fence in need of repair. Therefore, we are asking for donations to help repair the fence and provide support for St. Benedict the Moor Parish! Your donation is much appreciated, and any amount makes a huge difference to providing safety and care for these students. Thank you!
