The Duquesne University Pep Band

The Duquesne University Pep Band gives students of all majors the opportunity to come together and share their love for Duquesne Athletics and music. We strive for our performances at Dukes games to ignite fan energy and serve as the soundtrack for a fun game-day atmosphere.

We perform at all home women’s, men’s basketball games and football games – which is around 40 games a year. We also perform at special events on campus and throughout Pittsburgh.

Adding to the Duquesne University Student Experience

Not only do we provide a great experience for Duquesne crowds and our student-athletes, but our members also experience many benefits.

• We get to experience the thrill of performing in front of a live audience
• We get to relieve the stress associated with being a college student by playing and instrument and interacting with friends
• And, our members do not need to be a music major, so it gives all Duquesne students the chance to perform, form new friendships and share their love of music

Our first-ever crowdfunding campaign in 2018 greatly exceeded our expectations. The outpouring of support not only allowed us to purchase a drum line and offset the costs of everyday operations, but also opened our eyes to how many of our fans appreciate our dedication to this Duquesne tradition.

A successful campaign again this year, would take the Pep Band to even greater heights, as the funds would be used to purchase:

• A tent and rain gear for football games to keep us dry and our instruments safe from inclement weather
• In-game props to add an additional layer of entertainment to our performances
• New drum heads
• Updated gear that features the new Duquesne Athletics logo
