PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship

The Duquesne University Palumbo-Donahue School of Business & PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)

Over its first 100 years, Duquesne University's Palumbo-Donahue School of Business has produced thousands of alumni who have influenced the growth of companies in the Pittsburgh region and around the world. Among these notable graduates, are alumni who have started with and have had lasting careers with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). It goes without saying that our two organizations have had a mutually beneficial relationship for years.

The PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship

The Palumbo-Donahue School of Business strategic plan has a vision built on three strategic pillars, one of which is to attract and retain outstanding faculty who excel in both teaching and research. The PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship supports this strategic priority.

In support of the school’s strategic plan, a group of dedicated Duquesne University alumni currently employed and/or retired from PwC have made an initial pledge to help establish the PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship. This allowed for the inaugural holder of the PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship to already be named -- Jacqueline Pike.

Jacqueline is an Associate Professor of Information Systems Management in the Palumbo Donahue School of Business at Duquesne University. She helps prepare Duquesne students to operate in a world that is more and more disrupted by digital technology. To help them convert this disruption into opportunity, she enables students to develop their own digital mind-set.

Why A Faculty Fellowship?

Simply put, in the academic community, fellowships are viewed prestigiously as they enhance a school’s academic programs, enrich the lives of our students, and most importantly ensures that leading scholars educate future PwC employees.

Fellowship terms are held for a 3-year period thereby allowing Duquesne to recruit and/or retain faculty “rising stars”. A faculty member within the accounting, information systems or supply chain management disciplines can hold the PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship. Fellowship funding is utilized to support research and forward thinking thought leadership designed to influence the business thinking of tomorrow. Other fund uses include salary supplementation and travel expenses to academic conferences that provide a platform for knowledge dissemination.

Your additional, voluntary support is welcomed. The goal for this effort was set at $75,000 ($25,000 annually for three-years). Your participation will augment the notable support already committed towards the PwC Alumni Faculty Fellowship. This is an effort we hope to sustain for years to come. Your support of this initiative is completely voluntary.
