Thanks to the amazing generosity of Duquesne University alumni and friends, we exceeded our initial goal of $1,000 a week into the campaign! We can’t thank you all enough for your support.
We are now setting a new stretch goal of $2,000. These donations will further enhance our organization next academic year and in the years to come.
Every dollar and every share goes a long way to helping our Special Olympic athletes and student volunteers. Go Dukes!
What is Special Olympics College Club?
Special Olympics College Club (SOCC) is a collegiate level branch of Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. It was inspired by the success of similar clubs at other universities, namely Unified Sports. Unified Sports allows individuals of all ages and abilities to join together on mixed level teams and play sports both competitively and recreationally.
Special Olympics College Club at Duquesne University
SOCC at Duquesne University hopes to do all that and so much more (Polar Plunge, 5Ks, sports social club, etc). As we finish off our successful first season of unified games, we cannot contain our excitement to expand the club and begin to take part in other activities to raise money and awareness for such a deserving population of athletes. SOCC brings a healthy, fun, and life-changing experience to all those who participate (just take a look at our photos).
Why We Need Your Support
In order to continue to expand and provide this program, we need to raise funds and awareness. If you have the means consider donating to our cost, and if you do not, please share and spread the word!
All levels of donations will make a positive impact on SOCC and are appreciated. However, this is the order of items in which we plan to use our donations for. Donations will specifically go towards:
How You Can Help
Any donation will bring SOCC closer to its goal of creating a strong community of athletes at Duquesne University. However, if you feel you cannot make a donation at the time, please share this link via social media, email and text to encourage others to support our cause.
Thank You!
