We are the active sisters of Alpha Sigma Tau-Beta Delta chapter at Duquesne University. Thank you for taking the time to look at our crowdfunding campaign. As a chapter, we take great pride in all of our accomplishments and connections to our friends, family, and alumni. We would like to use this campaign to help to grow our sisterhood and uphold the close ties we have with those who continually support us.

What is Alpha Sigma Tau up to at Duquesne University?

Established in 1899 and brought to Duquesne’s campus in 1971, the Beta Delta chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau has continued to define excellence as well as display our other values of graciousness, respect, intellect, and connections in our daily lives.  As a chapter, we host two annual events to give back to the community:

• Each November, we host “Miss. Duquesne.” This is a pageant including representatives from various organizations across campus, raising money for Make-A-Wish.  This past year we were able to raise over $19,000 and grant three wishes. 
• In the spring, we host our Dress for Success clothing drive to support the Women’s Wellness Initiative in order to provide women in need with professional clothing to wear for job interviews. 

We strive to give back to the community as best we can through both our philanthropy and through various service opportunities throughout the city of Pittsburgh.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?

Greek organizations on Duquesne University’s campus are hosting crowdfunding campaigns to help their respective chapters grow.  The donations made will go to help our chapter cover costs of our current needs as well as to help us grow.  These donations will be used to:

• Host more fundraising events across the semester in addition to hosting Miss. Duquesne in order to give more to the Make-A-Wish Foundation
• Bring more awareness to our national philanthropy of the Women’s Wellness Initiative and our Dress for Success Campaign as well as host another event in addition to our clothing drive for this amazing organization
• Send more sisters to local places to volunteer in the community
• Grow our sisterhood by sending sisters to national conferences in order to strengthen our organization
