Welcome to Our Crowdfunding Page!

We are the sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi of the Alpha Mu chapter at Duquesne University and we would like to thank you for taking time to check out our crowdfunding campaign! Alpha Omicron Pi values charity, dignity, scholarship and college loyalty. A successful campaign would help us to make these efforts even stronger while also showing the Duquesne University community the strong bond we have with our alumnae sisters and friends.

What is Alpha Omicron Pi up to at Duquesne University?

Even though we have only been an official chapter on Duquesne’s campus for five years, we are very active on campus and nationally.

Alpha Omicron Pi supports two different philanthropies:

• The Arthritis Foundation nationally with many events each year like a volleyball tournament called Spike Out Arthritis, a partnership with the Pittsburgh Pirates called Strike Out Arthritis, and participation in the Jingle Bell Run
• The Variety Foundation locally in Pittsburgh through our annual Lip Sync Battle which goes towards raising money to provide disabled children with tools and devices to improve their everyday lives

Aside from service opportunities, we also place a strong emphasis on academics. Based on the fall 2018 academic term, we were ranked 2nd out of 11 sororities on campus for the highest grade point average and academic performance.

We arrange monthly sisterhood events like going to the pumpkin patch, baking cookies, and having movie nights to strengthen our friendships.

Within our chapter, we encourage sisters to run for the many leadership opportunities available each year. All of these qualities aid in shaping the strong young women of Alpha Omicron Pi, Alpha Mu Chapter.

Why Are We Crowdfunding?

Alpha Omicron Pi is crowdfunding this year in effort to raise funds for our chapter! Any money we raise will go to:

• sending members to national leadership conferences to learn about techniques to enhance our chapter
• updating our wing
• helping sisters struggling to pay their dues

Duquesne University has established Greek Life Student Support Funds for each sorority and fraternity on campus. These gift accounts allow us to accept donations, which we can use to help cover the costs of Alpha Omicron Pi’s most immediate needs. Examples of how these funds may be used are listed above.
