Sigma Tau Delta 2021
Who we are
Sigma Tau Delta is the international collegiate honors society for students of English and those who have a deep interest in the study of language and literature. Duquesne University’s chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, Pi Delta, not only confers distinction and recognition on those students who have excelled in the discipline, but it also fosters a community of scholars, readers, learners, and artists who are committed to using their knowledge, skills, and talent to serve and empower the many communities to which they belong.
For the 2021-2022 academic year at Duquesne, Sigma Tau Delta will partner with ESL/ELL, as it has done in previous years, to run "conversation hour" for English-language learners and international students on campus.
The impact of your gift
Your generosity to our crowdfunding campaign will enable Sigma Tau Delta members to offset a number of costs that they will have this academic year. These costs include:
- Planning and hosting a April 2022 student panel on campus that will showcase poetry, fiction, and scholarly research
- Catering and hosting spoken-word events on campus
- Offering gift cards for distinguished presentations and guest-speakers
- Sending members from our Pi Delta chapter to the Sigma Tau Delta 2022 International Convention in Atlanta, GA from 30 March to 2 April. This convention will present students with a number of expenses, including hotel, flights, and conference registration.
Please make a gift today
