Our Story
Duquesne Asset Management Group (DAMG) is a student-run organization that manages a stock portfolio of donated money and we need your help to send members to the G.A.M.E Forum March 22-24, 2018 in New York City. Our group is made up of about 30 students representing many different majors and class levels at Duquesne.
DAMG manages a stock portfolio valued at over $125,000. The group started out with $50,000 and has grown the fund over many years to its current value. DAMG raised a second fund in January of 2017 to focus on the micro-cap sector. For each portfolio, we research and analyze statistics of stocks to make real world investments. We believe the best way to learn is to take the knowledge we gain in class and apply it to real investments. The money that is made is reinvested in the funds for future students to manage. DAMG also invites financial professionals from the Pittsburgh area to advise its members on portfolio management strategy and the global business environment.
What the G.A.M.E Forum Means to Us
Every year, DAMG sends members of the group to New York for the G.A.M.E Forum, the largest student-run financial conference in the world. The 3-day Forum gathers some of the most successful people in finance to share their knowledge, expertise, and outlook for the future of the financial industry. This has been an invaluable experience for the members and we hope to continue the tradition! The Forum allows students to compete in a portfolio competition against international teams, meet with Chief Investment Officers of top investment firms, and meet students and professionals from all over the world.
With the expenses of travel, meals, lodging, and the tickets for the forum, the cost to attend is $1,100 per member. Please help us to continue to represent Duquesne University at the G.A.M.E Forum and further the experience of our members!
Support DAMG and Spread the Word!
We hope that you will consider donating today so that we can continue this incredible experience for our members.
