** INITIAL GOAL REACHED! **

THANK YOU to everyone who helped us exceed our crowdfunding campaign goal! Your generosity and support means so much!

Although we reached our initial goal, when you consider how cameras and lights costs thousands of dollars, we would still very much appreciate any additional donations. They will go a long way in helping to maintain and enhance our studio.

Even if you can’t make a financial contribution, you can support us by sharing the link to this page with your friends and family. Every dollar and every share goes a long way to helping provide Duquesne University media students with the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in front of and behind the camera.

Why We Need Your Support

DSTV is currently operating with no budget. DSTV has offered countless media students endless opportunities to work in the professional field of media, and the proper equipment and funding is necessary to build students’ portfolios in order to acquire these offers.  Without the proper equipment or funds, the equipment is and will continue to become outdated and practically worthless.

In the modern age where media is constantly progressing and surrounding us, DSTV is operating with equipment almost 10 years old.  This makes it hard to mesh with any new equipment which may come into the studio - ultimately hindering the quality of content.

DSTV is also missing smaller but necessary things which are used on a regular basis in the studio. For example, double a batteries for mic packs or thumbdrives to students can transport video to the computer to edit and publish.  Most of all, however, DSTV is in dire need of a new news desk, as the current desk is being held up by a 2x4 piece of wood.

Michela has spent her own money on smaller pieces of equipment just to keep smaller projects for DSTV going, but the need has outweighed her resources as a college student.

Please Donate Today

DSTV will accept donations via this crowdfunding campaign, but also will accept equipment such as AA batteries, thumbdrives (128 GB or larger) , SD cards, microphones for field projects, such as boom mics and mic packs.  Anything is greatly appreciated to help move the studio forward and create amazing content for students to produce and take pride in.

Any equipment donations can be dropped off to the office of James Vota on the fifth floor of College Hall on Duquesne University’s campus. Questions? Contact James Vota at vota@duq.edu.
