Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our alumni and friends, our crowdfunding campaign has already exceeded its initial goal but additional donations will further enhance our organization!
College of Psychiatric and Neurological Pharmacists (CPNP)
The College of Psychiatric and Neurological Pharmacists (CPNP) is a nationwide pharmacy organization that focuses on all things mental health. Their mission is “working toward a world where every individual with a psychiatric or neurologic disorder has a care team that includes a psychiatric and neurologic pharmacist accountable for optimal medication therapy.”
CPNP at Duquesne University
Duquesne University’s School of Pharmacy chapter of CPNP consists of 40 students in the School of Pharmacy who are interested in mental health. Our chapter focuses on introducing psychiatric pharmacy to students by having speakers from various disciplines, such as: psychiatric pharmacists, residents, therapists, personnel trained in crisis management, and many more.
Duquesne’s chapter of CPNP has recently pivoted their focus to supporting the mental health of students in the School of Pharmacy, and in the Duquesne community as a whole. College is hard, and many students nationwide and in our own campus community struggle with their mental health. Suicide is the second leading cause of death in among United States college students, with approximately 24,000 suicide attempts made by college students every year.
Our chapter of CPNP hopes to raise awareness and break the stigma of mental health disorders while simultaneously using our resources to support our students mental health. In order to achieve this goal, we need your help. Our ideas for supporting mental health far exceed our funding. We hope to use your donations to sponsor:
